AI DA (Ambitious Intelligence ・ Dynamic Acceleration)” is a generic name of the programs to promote internationalization of research developed and managed by KURA in collaboration with international funding agencies etc., in which we aim to accelerate carrier development of ambitious early carrier researchers (ECRs). Currently a partnership programme is operated jointly with DAAD in Germany.
The programme is administered by Kyoto University (KU) in Japan and the DAAD Bonn Office in Germany. The programme seeks a balance in the research contents between Japan and Germany, thus in developing the research plan in English, where common understanding must be shared among the applicants. Funding may be granted for international air fare and accommodation costs, basically. The DAAD and Kyoto University have agreed to invest an annual budget each for generally up to four new projects from 2020 at each side. Funding of the German side is supported by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. The period of possible dispatch of participants under this programme is from April 2020 to March 2021 for Kyoto University side, and from January 2020 to December 2020 for the German side. The guidelines hereafter apply to Kyoto University applicants only. German applicants are asked to refer to the guidelines as set up by DAAD’s call for applications.
