KAKENHI Preparation in Advance !
KAKENHI is the biggest funding programme in Japan. Early preparation is key to your success! Prior to announcement of the official call for proposals in September by JSPS, this seminar will help you understand the KAKENHI system, in terms of forms, research categories, review system. Join us if you would like to prepare in advance.
– What kind of documents, and skills are needed for application?
– How does the review process work?
– What will happen after awarding of a grant?
After a brief introduction on KAKENHI and support services of KURA, you will receive some tips from a past reviewer and recipient.

– 15:25 – 15:40 My experience as a reviewer by Prof. Tadashi Ogawa (HAKUBI Center for Advanced Research and K-CONNEX)
– 15:40 – 15:55 My experience as a recipient by Prof. Ana Maria Cruz (Center for disaster Reduction Systems, Disaster Prevention Research Institute)

Note: There will be another seminar planned in September after the formal announcement of FY2019 KAKENHI, on September 1st. The next seminar in September will cover the actual changes, the application writing skills and technical guidance on e-Rad (JSPS’s electronic system for submitting KAKENHI applications). The details will be announced later.
